Cooling tower operation and maintenance methods

　　Cooling TowerCorrect operation methods and requirements are:

　　(1) The number of cooling towers used matches the number of unit openings.

　　(2) Close the inlet and outlet valves of the cooling tower without a fan to prevent cooling water from flowing through the unused tower.

　　(3) Temporarily increase the cooling tower fan. After turning off the fan, don't forget to close the inlet and outlet valves of the tower.

　　(4) Check the operation of the cooling tower after each shift. If cooling water is found to pass through the cooling tower without a fan, the inlet and outlet water valves of the tower should be closed in time, and the water level of the water pan should be adjusted to the condenser, evaporator, and screw chiller of the air conditioning system. Some units are equipped with electric valves. However, electric valves are prone to malfunctions and misoperations, so inspections should be strengthened to ensure the normal operation of the system. The refrigeration process is actually a heat exchange process.

　　Cooling Tower Maintenance:

　　The maintenance process of the cooling tower is divided into three stages: cleaning and maintenance after shutdown, pre-start-up inspection and commissioning, and formal start-up inspection.

　　(1) After shutdownCooling TowerCleaning and maintenance

　　1. Loose water system

　　① Check whether the cooling tower main water pipe, water distribution pipe, and nozzle are damaged or loose, and repair them in time. Remove dirt from the inside of the water distribution pipe and nozzle to ensure that the water distribution pipe is unobstructed and the nozzle distribution is uniform.

　　② Rinse the cooling tower water pan and outlet filter screen to prevent scale and dirt from accumulating and blocking the pipes. After cleaning, open the drain valve to drain the water in the water pan to prevent freezing.

　　③ Check for water leakage in the water pan and tower legs. If there is leakage, apply glue in time.

　　2. Cooling system

　　① CleaningCooling Towerof all heat exchange materials (fillings), remove scale and dirt from the surface and between the holes of the heat exchange materials, and ensure the cleanliness of the heat exchange materials. Repair and replace the heat exchange materials during disassembly and assembly. Pay attention to tight packaging and leave no gaps.

　　② Clean the water curtain and sound insulation blanket to remove dirt. Repair and replace damaged areas. The water curtain should be placed tightly to prevent water from floating. Add water to the cooling tower and check for leaks (especially at the tower body connections). If there is a leak, replace the seals.

　　3. Transmission system

　　① Motor: Check whether the motor wiring terminals are intact, whether the motor rotates normally, whether the motor wiring box is sealed, whether the motor bearings are lubricated, and whether the motor casing is repainted. For long-term shutdown, it is recommended that the owner run the motor for at least 3 hours per month to keep the motor coil dry and lubricate the bearing surface.

　　② Gearbox: Check whether the gearbox rotates normally. If there is any abnormal noise, the gearbox bearings should be replaced immediately.

　　③ Belt and pulley: Adjust the top screw, loosen the belt, and extend the belt life. Check whether the belt is damaged or broken. If necessary, it is recommended that the owner replace a new belt. Check the levelness of the pulley and motor frame, tighten loose bolts, and replace corroded bolts.

　　④ Fan: Clean the dirt on the surface of the fan blades, check the angle of the fan blades, the gap between the fan blades and the fan casing, and adjust them.

　　4.Cooling TowerAppearance

　　① Clean the fan casing, tower frame, and air inlet guide plate to ensure a clean and beautiful appearance.

　　② Re-tighten the bolts in all parts and replace rusty bolts.

　　③ Check the tower body for damage and cracks, and repair them in time.

　　④ Check whether the vertical seam of the cooling tower arm is tight, and re-apply glue if necessary.
