Fiberglass hoods fully utilize the characteristics of fiberglass materials, and their effect on collecting and processing waste gas is visible to the naked eye. I. Selection of Raw Materials
The raw materials used in fiberglass hoods are resin, fiberglass, and filler calcium powder, equipped in a 1:1:1 ratio. The produced fume hoods are smooth and flat, with good gloss, high strength, and a certain degree of toughness. If substandard resin is used, the opposite will be true. Substandard resin is dirty and unsightly, with high viscosity, high heat release, high shrinkage, relatively slow curing, and poor compatibility. The resulting product has many pores, is prone to cracking, has low strength, and poor toughness.
II. Product Comparison
Good fiberglass hoods have no obvious cracks in their appearance, relatively few pores, bright colors, good transparency, a certain degree of toughness and strength, a smooth surface, and a long lifespan; while substandard fiberglass hoods have cracks, many pores, impure colors, poor gloss, and a shorter lifespan.
III. Color Degradation
Good fiberglass hoods will only have slightly darkened colors after several years of use, and the entire plate remains intact without obvious damage. Substandard ones, however, cannot withstand practical testing. After several years of use, they will show obvious damage such as corrosion, cracking, and pores. The plate will also not be as flat, and the color degradation is severe, with overall aging.
The characteristics of the fiberglass cover plate itself can be said to be more than ten percent, and the correct usage can also maintain a long service life. What aspects should we pay attention to during the application process?
When using fiberglass cover plates, we need to know that the quality of the product itself is still inferior to ordinary cover plates. Therefore, when installing in centers with relatively low water levels, we can consider using some anti-buoyancy measures. For our employees, when setting up three-way valves on the product, we must follow the curing order to ensure better stability and application of the product.
Moreover, fiberglass cover plates themselves have poor UV protection. The time that can delay product aging is that although some surfaces have a rich resin layer and UV absorbers, as the frequency of our use increases, the internal UV absorbers and other maintenance materials will be damaged, thereby damaging the service life of the product. Construction teams should also try to avoid digging or damaging the product during construction.
